Nursing Assistant Program (NA) Description:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is more than just a caregiver—they are the foundation of patient care and the bridge between patients and the medical team. CNAs bring compassion, dedication, and resilience to every shift, making a powerful impact on the lives of those they serve.
As a CNA, you provide essential hands-on support: assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, ensuring comfort, and being a trusted source of encouragement during vulnerable moments. Your work is deeply human—it’s about dignity, respect, and kindness.
What makes a CNA stand out is their strengths:
- Compassion: CNAs connect with patients on a personal level, offering comfort and emotional support.
- Adaptability: They thrive in fast-paced environments and respond to challenges with patience and skill.
- Teamwork: CNAs are essential collaborators, working alongside nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Dedication: With strong work ethic and commitment, CNAs keep healthcare running day and night.
Being a CNA isn’t just a job—it’s the first step in an exciting medical career. Many go on to become Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), or even advance into specialized fields. Every day as a CNA builds the knowledge, experience, and confidence that opens doors to endless opportunities in healthcare.
If you’re seeking a career where your compassion makes a difference and your work creates lasting impact, becoming a CNA is your opportunity to shine.
Job Duties:
The Nursing Assistant performs routine nursing procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or a physician. These procedures include observation, reporting, and the environmental and physical management of patients. Students completing the program receive a certificate of completion and can find entry- level employment opportunities as a Nursing Assistant in hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies or other skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, graduates are qualified to take the Texas State Certification exam for Nursing Assistants.
